Featured Project

Environmental Suitability Assessment

The Lower Platte Environmental Suitability Assessment is a multiphase effort that will develop a planning framework for responsible, consistent and sustainable development in the Lower Platte River Corridor.

This effort involves assembling enviromental and natural resource related information and using it to develop tools to assist decision makers. These tools will help identify environmental constraints and opportunities when making land use decisions.

FEATURED EVENTS in 2011

Installation of LPRCA Information Kiosks

The LPRCA is finally getting prepared for installation of ten informative signs throughout the Lower Platte River Corridor! General sites have been selected, the posters are ready and the kiosks are built! In April we plan to GPS exact site locations and hopefully by May the kiosks will be in place. Look for the LPRCA signs in local state parks, wildlife management areas, and at other key Platte River-viewing attractions. We are very excited to display the kiosks so visitors can learn what the lower Platte River has to offer, and the importance of protecting this unique environment.

Lower Platte River Kayak Tour

Mark your calendars for July 19th and join the LPRCA for a kayak tour of the scenic Lower Platte River. This half-day event was a great success in 2010 and we look forward to seeing you on this year's voyage. See the events page for more details on the Lower Platte River Kayak Tour.

Lower Platte River Water Quality Open

On September 1st, the LPRCA will hold its 14th Annual Water Quality Open golf tournament. This annual outdoor recreational activity offers educational opportunities by providing displays, demonstrations and environmental trivia throughout the course to raise awareness of conservation needs along the Lower Platte River Corridor. Last year over 144 players ranging from the general public to legislators to natural resources managers, participated in the event. More information and registration for this year's event will be posted on the website as it becomes available.
