Special Presentations: Keystone Oil Pipeline Project & ENWRA
Join us for two exciting presentations:
- Tentatively - Jeff Raugh representing the Trans Canada Company will talk about a proposed oil pipeline that will be laid from Hardisty, Alberta Canada to Patoka, Illinois and Cushing, OKlanhoma. En route, this new pipeline will transverse parts of Nebraska and cross beneath the Lower Platte River south of Richland. For more information go to the project website at: http://www.transcanada.com/keystone/.
- ENRWA - Hear from Dana Divine, Coordinator of the Eastern Nebraska Water Resources Assessment (ENWRA) group, about groundwater aquifer assessments and mapping efforts currently happening in eastern Nebraska. Using sophisticated tools like helicopter electromagnetic (HEM) surveys (resembles a torpedo hanging from a helicopter) and traditional assessment methods such as test hole drilling, the group hopes to delineate aquifers and etter understand water quality and quantity isseus in this area where more than 70% of Nebraskan's population resides. For more detailed info, check out their website at: http://dnrdata.dnr.ne.gov/ENWRA/.
